This is the second blog post in a deep-dive series on endometriosis. In this post, we explore endometriosis’ symptoms and signs, and how to make a diagnosis of endometriosis.

Over the coming weeks, we will provide a series of blog posts about endometriosis. Though to affect up to 1 in 8 women, it is a very common cause of bad period pain. This first endometriosis-themed blog outlines its causes, risk factors, and staging (amongst other areas). This background information will provide the basis to understanding future posts in this series, which will cover symptoms, and medical and surgical management.

Hysterectomy involves surgically removing the uterus (or womb). If your gynaecologist has suggested a hysterectomy as an option for you, it’s important to understand exactly which body parts will be removed, and how your surgeon will approach the operation. While a major operation, having a hysterectomy may give you a much-needed new lease of life!
